About Captain Chucke

Captain Chucke is a traveling poet and folk punk musician from Nelsonville, OH.

Captain Chucke hit the road in early 2015, beginning an obsession with traveling and living free. After returning home and doing a short stint at a call center, Chucke purchased an ukulele in late 2015 and hit the road once again.

Learning how to play while hitchhiking the United States, Captain Chucke returned to Ohio in 2016 to record the Ohio Outlaw demo. He would join the street band - Appalachian Soup Company - for a brief stint, traveling with them for a couple months before continuing solo.

Captain Chucke would return to Ohio once again in early 2017, where he would record Wine for the Road in February, before going on a 6 show run in the spring, leading up to the release of Health Nuts Are Wingnuts Too in May. In July, Captain Chucke teamed up with Cats Not Cops to release the split, UKElear Assault.

Drawing inspiration from Profane Sass, Riley Coyote/Rail Yard Ghosts, Days N Daze, Lost Dog Street Band, and Johnny Hobo, Captain Chucke's music tackles social issues such as mental illness, poverty, growing homelessness, a building police state, the collapse of modern society, and life on the road.
